Think Positive Thoughts

"How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone."- James 4:14

These past few days have been kinda of crazy. Thursday, July 7th, was quite an eventful day. It started out with me wanting to cook dinner that night. I had everything planned out and it seemed like it was going to be a great dinner. I began to make everything and it was just going wonderful until the grill didnt want to work. I just stood there and said to myself "REALLY?!" Everything that I thought could go wrong, went wrong. Well, at least in my mind it did. I just stood there and began to panic and get frustrated. I instantly texted Amy and just began to sulk about everything going wrong. She began telling me that everything will be okay and I just needed to relax. I thought to myself that nothing could be fixed. My meal was going to be horrible. Everyone eating it that night would say it was just the worst. That is when Amy finally told me to stop being a baby and to just let it be. I ate my food I made and instantly I felt better. What was it that made all my worries and doubts just disappear? I then thought to myself once more, "Amy was right! Just forget about what has happened. Everyone falls sometimes, but you can just sit there and dwell on the bad things. You can't be perfect. You just gotta keep practicing and you will get in the groove of things and it will all work out." She was right! You can't just sit around and dwell on the bad things. I know a lot of people that will keep thinking about what happened in the past and will keep bringing it up. Amy kept telling me that when you doubt or worry, you just get further away from God. It is the Devil trying to pull you away. I know that was 100% true because it has happened to me before. I doubted and then I just felt further away from God. It's amazing how the small things in life mostly always teach you what God has to tell us. God wants us to always have a positive attitude in life. He doesn't want us to just keep dwelling on what the past has done. Instead we need to look foward to the future. Like in James 4:14, we don't know what tomorrow brings. Tomorrow could never come. You can't be living your life down in the dumps just because a creme brule didn't turn out. Or you get jealous because someone went somewhere and you weren't going. Being jealous about something is just the works of the devil. Again, he is just trying to pull you away from God. In Matthew 13:22, it talks about the seed being planted among thorns. Those who has roots in the thorns hear God's words but then fall too quickly away because they are reminded of their worries and lure of wealth. They just begin to worry about everything and have that negative attitude towards everything. I have realized in the past few days that everyone's time here on earth is way to short. This is just a temporary home and Heaven is our eternal home. We need to stop living in a negative way. We need to be positive even when the world around us is not. When you are positive about anything and everything, then you will definetly see the difference in the way you act, the way you speak, and the way you live. You may stumble and fall, but you got to get back up, dust yourself off, and continue on living your life. Life is too short to dwell on the past. Just laugh it off and your future will be bright. Don't be the darkness in the world.. For we were not supposed to be of this world. We are supposed to be the lights to this dark place.

The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted"- Matthew 13:23

The Call of God

"Life throws some hard troubles. People that will think they are going to talk bad about you. or think they are better than you and put you down. Or even obstacles that will block what is right in our lives. The main thing that needs to be done is to stay faithful. God will provide for us. Even though sometimes He doesn't seem like He is going to help us out, He is. The only thing we need to do is wait, listen, and do."

That was a status I put on facebook on Wednesday, February 23rd around 9:30 P.M. What does it mean? Why was it posted? What is it's importance? Honestly the meaning could be translated into many different things. My interpretation on it is this:

This world has SO many things that will try to trip you up and make you fall. It will taunt you and kick you while you are down. That is really how it is. Your boss at work could one day come up to you and say," We don't need you anymore. We found someone better." WHAT?! A job you have had for some odd amount of years, or months, and you are fired? That seems inhumane; wrong. What do you do then? You pick yourself up and carry on. The next day, you go and apply for places to work at. No one is hiring. WHAT?! You put yourself out there to get a new job, but no one wants you because they don't want to pay more people or they don't have any positions. You pick yourself up, go home, and pray. The following day you find out that the HOPE Scholarship that helped pay for students to continue their education into college is cut and changed to accommodate certain individuals. WHAT?! An aid that has long helped is now cut. How will you go to college? You are furious. Everything seems lost. You try to pick yourself up, but you can't. There seems like all hope is lost and you just are fed up with everything. You have always believed that God will provide, through the hardest of times. These past few days, weeks or months, seem like God is not there. He seems like He has failed you. You have no hope and you just want to curl up and almost stop believing. STOP RIGHT THERE! God has a chosen plan for you. He won't let you suffer. He wants you to succeed and see Him soon. In the Bible, it tells you that God has a plan for us. It is a predetermined plan. Only God knows what will happen. "How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone." (James 4:14). That is an excellent verse of the bible. It tells you that you have no earthly idea what your life will be like tomorrow. It could vanish in a matter of a second. That is why you have to live your life to the fullest. Anyways, life is filled with so many bad things. Temptations, Lust, Obstacles, Rash decisions, Brutalities. If there are bad, there has to be good. Opportunities, Possibilities, Incredible feats. The biggest thing that has to be done is like what I said in my status, "You won't know what God wants you to do unless you stop worrying and start listening." We have to sit, pray, listen, understand, and do. It may not be something we are comfortable with. It may push us to limits we never thought could be pressed. I know what my God wants me to do. I have prayed and I have heard what he wants me to do. I have been called to spread His AMAZING news to the world. The world may not be ready to understand and accept what He has said, but that is just how life is. It's stubborn and unreal. I know my God and He knows me. Do you know what you have to do in this unreal world?

In The Blink of An Eye

Imagine being able to see everything this world has to offer.Think about what you see. Is it the gigantic, green trees that are lined up like soliders? Or how about the abundant supply of water that fills the oceans around this world? Now that you are thinking about some of the vast things that lay upon this big green planet, there is one underlying condition. A disease sneaks up on you and recks havoc on many vital organs that are inside your body. One of the biggest things that is hit is your eye sight. The world becomes dark and distinct figures become blurred to black. You quickly become blind and cannot see anything. You slowly fall into a depressive state that takes over your life. What do you do now? Do you dwell on the things you can't do? I definitely would for a few days, but eventually I would start to think of the things I CAN do. I can smell the flowers that let their perfumes pierce the air. I can feel the wind that rushes through the wide-open spaces. One can make a list of things they couldn't do, but it wouldn't be as long as the many opportunities that are out there. You have to think that sometimes things we tae for granted everyday can be taken from us permanently and suddenly we're changed forever. The simplest tasks can become difficult, but you still have to have faith in what you can do. The possibilities are endless if you set you heart and mind to it.

Simply Consider

One must simply consider what they truely live for. Is it a sports team like the carolina hurricanes? or a social network formally know as facebook? the biggest thing people leave out is living for God. i have witnessed many people "worshiping" sports teams and food items and social networks. i can ever confess that i was one of those people. i was not fulfilling God's first Commandment: You shall not have any other God before me. I was putting things before God and was raising them high above me as if they were God-like. that was a big mistake because i was not doing what God has called me us to do. So i recently went through a day of fasting and didnt eat for a whole day. My stomach was growling, my head felt empty, and yet my heart still kept beating. God helped me through the day and kept reminding me that He is ALL we need. Period. If you go over to my girlfriend's blog, she has a post about having a relationship with God over being religious. I know my God. He is greater, He is Stronger, and He is above any other. I have that personal relationship with my God. He doesn't just know me, I know him.
